This is a creative practice for intermediate GenAI creators. We meet online 2x a week and practice fast, non-stop writing. From that writing, insights and words power our GenAI pursuits, making work that is truly our own.

HI, I’M LEAH
I’m a commercial photographer and creative director and have written in a journal since 3rd grade. Messy, personal, real writing has been the heartbeat of my visual career.
In 2022 I started working with GenAI to make visual work and quickly learned that work made through prompt engineering shares the powerful improvisational possibility and iterative truths as writing.
Midjouney introduced moodboards in late 2024, making complicated style training acessible for a wider audience.
Freewriting + prompt engineering + style training all comes together here at Prompting From The Source. Join us for this simple yet powerful practice.

I won’t always be able to join the live meetings. will they be available recorded?
The weekly meet ups are available to view online for a week in our Community Garden.
I’ve never really used genai before to make art and want to learn the tools. is this the right place for me?
Prompting From The Source is for people with an established GenAi practice, confident in thier chosen tools and ready to push thier work to the next level. If you’re a beginner and curious about GenAi, check out the AI Salon, a community I co-founded for the AI Curious.
WhAT’S INCLUDED IN THE SUBSCRIPTION?
Right now our subscription includes two online meetings a week (Monday and Thursday mornings) where we practice Prompting From The Source together.
What tools do I need?
Free Writing - pen and paper or laptop
Prompt Engineering - Leah uses Midjourney for this practice. You can use whatever tool you’re comfortable with for your discipline.
Style Training- Leah uses Midjourney’s moodboards for this practice. You can use whatever tool you’re comfortable with for style training.
why midjourney?
Leah built this practice from the three creative points: Free Writing, Prompt Engineering, and Style Training using Midjourney Moodboards. If you have a GenAi practice where you can do both prompt engineering and style training outside of Midjourney, this practice can also work very well.
What’s Garden Party?
Garden Party is the creative workshop Leah Fasten launched in the spring of 2025 as a home for all her creative GenAI including prompt engineering work, Midjourney consulting, GenAi play, and of course, Prompting From The Source.
