My Summer '25 GenAI Hootenanny

I like to sew just about as much as I like playing with Midjourney. https://www.instagram.com/she_sews_sea_clothes/ is the instagram feed I started a while back of me with my makes. It's been a bit since I posted.
I'm re-imagining the feed with new makes, images etc. To figure out the direction for the new images I'm playing with integrating midjourney backgrounds into the original images. Here are few re-mixes I did today.
First, in Midjourney, I made a "vintage shore" moodboard with some of my photos of the beach, found vintage beach postcards, some movie stills and some color chips. (--p m7329461276382330914)
Then I generated some backgrounds (the bits behind the images) as vintage tablecloths. On the original photos I desaturated the background to greyscale in Lightroom. Then I uploaded them into the editor in Midjourney. Once in Midjourney, I removed the greyscaled background and generated a new one with my moodboard.
For most of the generations, I made my generation a bit smaller and added another layer behind it dropping in one of my backgrounds. I also played with trying to prompt for a border right on the intial layer, which was very hard to do. I had more luck the first way, but the last image here was prompted right in the first layer.
